The lady in charge
Lindy Taylor is the CEO and Founder of 5th Discipline, an advisory and consulting firm based in Cape Town with an objective to enable climate change players to scale through the lens of people, brand and systems.
With over a decade of experience in net-zero and people-related industries, Lindy has supported brands with their growth strategies covering research, market analysis, organisational design, business development, marketing strategy and execution, as well as mentoring and guiding teams.
She is a firm believer in understanding the metrics of success and utilising business and marketing intelligence to make informed commercial decisions. Her research into the green economy reflects this: on a skills audit for the Atlantis Special Economic Zone.
That instinct for evidence carries into the field. On the Green Mini-Grid Programme in Kenya, she supported supervisory oversight of the AFD-managed, FCDO/EU-funded programme that has electrified roughly 100,000 Kenyans across rural Turkana and beyond, helping establish private-sector mini-grids as a route to reliable renewable power in off-grid communities.
Needless to say, she understands complex systems as well as the people side of what creates top-performing businesses. She needed somewhere to put this expertise, and so 5th Discipline was formed.
